Certified EMDR Therapy in New York & New Jersey
Helping the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming in the present.
The Cycle
Understanding EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an established, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories. When an overwhelming event occurs, the brain often stores it with the original distress, thoughts, and physical sensations intact. Later on, everyday situations can trigger those memories, making past pain feel intensely active in the present.
As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I work with clients to activate the brain's natural ability to resolve these stalled experiences so you can move forward with greater ease.

the Process
How the Process Works
Using bilateral stimulation—such as gentle guided eye movements, alternating auditory tones, or tapping—we help the brain integrate unprocessed memories. EMDR does not erase what happened, but it helps change how those memories feel in your body and mind, shifting negative beliefs (such as "I'm not safe") to balanced, grounded truths (such as "It's over now; I am safe").
